About the Artist
Patrick Henry
Patrick Henry is a Jamaican-born, Louisiana-based mixed media artist known for his distinctive three-dimensional paintings that blend sculpture, painting, and storytelling. Working primarily with wood, acrylic, and oil paint, Henry creates layered artworks that extend beyond the frame, inviting viewers into richly textured narratives inspired by the culture, history, and folklore of the American South and the Caribbean.
Deeply influenced by the traditions of New Orleans, Henry draws inspiration from the vibrant traditions of Louisiana, including jazz music, second line parades, Congo Square, folklore, and the everyday people who shape the region's unique identity. His work often incorporates trompe l'oeil techniques and hand-crafted wooden elements, creating the illusion of movement and depth while celebrating heritage, resilience, and community.
An award-winning artist and muralist, Henry's work has been featured in festivals, public art projects, galleries, and private collections. Through his signature style, he seeks to preserve cultural stories, honor forgotten histories, and create meaningful connections between past and present. Each piece is carefully handcrafted, making every work a unique expression of artistry, craftsmanship, and cultural storytelling.
